Coach Allister Coetzee made just two changes to the squad who beat Argentina in their last outing, with Ross Cronje shaking off an ankle injury to return at scrumhalf while Franco Mostert has been rested at lock with Pieter-Steph du Toit returning to the starting team for the first time this season.
The Springboks have enjoyed a much better year in 2017 after a tumultuous 2016 season. At the same stage last year, they had lost to Argentina and Ireland and that wasn’t even as bad as it got.
But there seems to be a renewed energy and optimism in the squad and prop Trevor Nyakane says the team is in a good mental space.
